Spring Fun

The boys started another year of Upward Soccer on Saturday. It's bittersweet to see them grow so quickly. We are hoping for an injury-free year, as Isaac broke his arm at the first practice of Soccer last year. They had their first game and then a small egg hunt afterwards. I find it sweet and cute that they still want to hunt eggs. I'll continue to hide them as long as they enjoy it. I'll post more pictures of Resurrection Day later. After all the loss we have had this year, it was a day of tears, but sharing the message of Jesus with the little ones at church and knowing our own sons have decided to follow Jesus outweighs all the sadness. We serve a Risen Savior.. what a gift to us all. Love, Nancy

Jacob's Basketball Season

Sorry, Great Gordon, Grammy, Papaw, and those who read our Blog regularly. We haven't been keeping it up very well. Michael is so very busy with both his jobs, it leaves the responsibility on me, the one who isn't very good at archiving. So, here's my attempt at blogging...

Jacob had a great year of UPWARD basketball! His first time ever playing. It took him a while to get the rhythm of dribbling while walking down the court, but by the end of the season he was one of the best players on his team. He's naturally gifted in most things related to sports. Clearly a gift from God and not his parents! Here's a few fun pictures of his year with basketball. He was a WOLVERINE, much to daddy's delight.

Here's a video done by one of the moms on the team. I'm not a big fan of the music choice, but she took a lot of time, and there are a couple great clips if Jacob with several shots. He is #5. What a fun year!

2012 Superbowl Village

Took the family downtown tonight to see the Village and any excitement. Lots of people watching other people watching them. And a 600' zipline over Capital avenue.

2012 Pinewood Derby Race

No winners this year, but Isaac did make the finals. Thanks Papaw for the help in preparing their cars; Isaac's Mach 5 and Jacob's Flamethrower.

Fall in Poseyville

We visited Nancy's Mom & Jim this weekend in Poseyville. It's harvest time and the boys had a good time collecting corn for Grammy's squirrels.

We also were able to see the rain-delayed fall festival parade in Poseyville. It was a beautiful day.

Founders Park (Carmel, indiana)

Daddy spent the past 5 years working on this park, on and off. The construction wrapped up and it opened to the public last month. Nancy and the boys were able to attend the event with me and to try out the playground. I think it came out pretty well.

Ball Games

As it worked out Isaac and Jacob were able to attend a Colts preseason game, as well as two Indianapolis Indians baseball games in the past months. It was the first time Nancy had seen the new Colts Stadium and the first Colts game for all three of them. They lost, but we had a great night. The stadium is spectacular (an encouragement every time we go out to eat and pay 1% more in sales tax.)

The Indians lost both games we went to as well, but the atmosphere, 99 degrees and all, is just perfect. And free parking at the zoo for the dutchman daddy.

Lastly, the boys were able to get their ball gloves signed by Indians' catcher Eric Fryer. He made two lifelong fans. He was up with Pittsburgh earlier this summer and will hopefully catch on with them for good next year.
